Key Responsibilities of the Paralegal:
- Conduct in-depth legal research, gathering crucial case law, statutes, and regulations to fortify our legal arguments
- Oversee and guide case assistants during trial preparation, ensuring every detail is meticulously handled
- Prepare and file essential legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with precision and accuracy
- Maintain and organize comprehensive case files, keeping detailed records of all activities and documentation
- Lead and conduct thorough document reviews, including managing the e-discovery process
- Assist with depositions, hearings, and trials, ensuring seamless execution and coordination
- Serve as a liaison between clients, witnesses, and court officials, maintaining clear and professional communication
- Prepare exhibits and evidence, supporting attorneys in building compelling cases
- Draft correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of attorneys, showcasing your keen attention to detail
- Monitor critical case deadlines, ensuring timely filings and submissions
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and assist in settlement negotiations
Qualifications of the Paralegal:
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
- Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred
- 3-7 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on corporate litigation
- Deep understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes
- Proficient in legal research tools and databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw)
- Ability to travel for weeks at a time for trials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
